NOLA Day three

Monday morning we headed back to the French Quarter to have breakfast at Cafe Du Monde. I love all the lace iron the French Quarter has, it is so beautiful!
This fountain is between the French Market and the Quarter. It is lovely here. lots of shade and there is always live music!

Finally made it to Cafe Du Monde!
Our waiter, yes it is HOT!
Our table waiting for our beignets!
Oh yummy goodness!
The kids devoured them!
They come with about a pound of powdered sugar. The boys were in heaven!

After our breakfast we did some shopping. Adam posed in front of this vintage Harley while my dad bought a shirt.

Next we made our way over to Jackson Square.
I took lots of pictures of this, I think because I was so excited to be here!

St Louis Cathedral was very fun to see.

This cannon was used during the Battle of New Orleans

Walking down Pirate Alley

A couple of turns and now we are walking down Bourbon Street

Had to take a picture of Peter next to the St. Peter street sign.

funny story: It was about 10:30 and already super duper hot and humid as heck. While we stopped on Bourbon Street to take some pictures, Adam sat down on a door stoop to drink his water. The way he was sitting looked just like a bum. some guys walking by looked at him at said,"looks like that kid had one water too many!" It was pretty funny.

Found a restaurant with Sam's name.

I love this building!

All the street signs had stickers all over them. this one was the only one we could find without nudie pics or bad words on it!

My parents stayed at this hotel Thursday night to celebrate their anniversary

Looking down Bourbon.

After the French Quarter, we took the street car to the National World War II Museum. This place was so awesome to see!

This is the size of the armies that fought in WWII. I think it really says something about the US. when our military was so small in comparison and yet we still won the war!

Attack on Pearl Harbor

Sam liked this because it reminded him of Indiana Jones!

The yellow building houses the museum, in the gray building is a 4-D movie called Beyond All Boundaries. It was amazing to see. I LOVE American history and to see and hear some of the stories that were told was just so neat to see.

Just a cool building

My mom and I loved this old red house, it is now a restaurant.

We actually did what this billboard said!

After the WWII museum, we took the ferry across the Mississippi to Algiers.

Old Algiers is very beautiful and quaint.
This is the house I would LOVE to live in!!! So pretty!!!!

New Orleans water meter covers. there are paintings, artwork, and jewelry with this cover on it. It is kinda cool looking.

The Natchez! We will be riding this later in the week!

My boys walking along the levee and the banks of the Mississippi.

Getting back on the ferry

Needed a picture of another train!

The boys got to ride in the driver's seat!

What fun and tiring day!
