Day 3 at Disneyland- Christmas Day

Christmas Morning!  and Day 3 at Disneyland!
last night after the kids showered and opened their new PJ's from the pajama Elf, we had a few more presents for them to open.  They had Christmas cards to open from both sets of grandparents with money inside!  They were saying how they wished they had the money to spend in the parks and not just at Downtown Disney like we told them.  Mark and I were going to wait til the morning as we were heading to Downtown Disney to tell them that we are actually spending a third day in the parks, but we couldn't wait so we told them that night.  they were so excited!

This morning we woke up at 7:00 to open stockings, get ready, and to pack.  After the car was loaded, we went to have breakfast at McDonalds with the Ballards before they left to go back home to San Diego.  We got through the gates right around 9:00.  During breakfast, we decided to just have a nice relaxing day.  We have already done everything we really wanted to do, so we didn't feel the need to rush around today.

Santa brought the boys Mickey Santa hats in their stockings.

Our first order of the day was to ride Splash mountain, but as we were passing the Tiki Room, a show was starting  so we went in to watch all the birds sing.  The wait time for Splash Mountain was 5 minutes so we walked through the regular queue.  I haven't been through the regular queue in so long!  I wanted a good picture of all of us on the ride so I had us sit in order of height and told everyone to not put their hands up so we can see everyone's faces.  And what did Adam do?!  He put his head down!!!  So this is the picture we ended up with!   After the ride, we noticed that the wait time was up to 40 minutes.  This would be a trend all through the day, where as soon a we walk on a ride, the wait time is then crazy!

While on this trip, we realized that Adam doesn't remember Toon Town!  So we headed there next.  Along the way, we stopped at a few stores because Sam wanted to buy a hat.  He finally found one that he loved and bought it.  Roger Rabbit was down so we just let the boys play with all the sound effects.  they had lots of fun pulling and pushing everything!  Oh yeah, did I mention the weather today?  Warm with a nice Santa Ana breeze, Perfect!  It was really hard to remember that today is Christmas Day!  Throughout the day we were always saying,"Oh yeah, It's Christmas!"  If the CM's weren't always telling us Merry Christmas, we probably would have forgotten!

The boys wanted to ride Gadget's Go Coaster.  This is them in line.

Always need a picture in the Toon Town car!

After Toon Town, the boys wanted to ride the train all the way around the park.  We were going to use the Fantasyland station, but the line was insane.  Instead we walked over to the Tomorrowland station and just waited for the next train.  Mark and I drank our Rockstars while waiting so we were good!

Having fun on the train!

When we had lunch yesterday at the Hungry Bear, Sam and Adam saw the canoes and wanted to go on those.  It was fun!

After our workout paddling the canoes, we thought we needed a treat!  We got gingerbread beignets shaped like Mickey and mint juleps, BEST SNACK EVER!!!!!!!

Peter wanted to ride the Silly Symphony swings again so we headed back over to DCA, but first we stopped to watch some of the parade on Main Street.

Cute Sam watching the parade

I love the new entrance to California Adventure!

The kids wanted to explore Redwood Creek challenge.  This really is a lot of fun!

We went on the swings again and then went to ride TOT AGAIN!  Sam and Adam wanted new Buzz toys.  Sam bought this same exact toy at Disneyland 5 years ago and he wanted a new one and of course Adam wanted one too!

We LOVE this ride!

In the gift shop after TOT.  Oswald ears!

Watching part of another parade.

We decided to watch the Muppet show next.  The kids love all gag jokes.

Waiting for the show to start.

After the Muppets, we were hungry for dinner.  We have seen people walking around with these huge turkey legs and I've heard that they are really good so finally we tried them...So Yummy!

With the way our fastpasses worked out, we were going to be doing a lot of park hopping so we headed back to Disneyland to ride Space Mountain and then back to DCA to ride Goofy's Flight School, which, BTW, is the scariest ride in the parks!  and then we headed over to ride Soarin'.

After Soarin' Peter bought a mug he wanted and we bought some ornaments then we saw Mickey and Pluto.  After we got our pictures taken with them, we said good bye to DCA for this trip.

Back again at Disneyland, we rode Star Tours and then watched Fantasmic!  This is my favorite show at Disneyland.  I think its better than World of Color.  We got popcorn and one last round of churros while we watched the show.
the last ride was on the monorail, the boys wanted to ride the whole loop.  The kids and I got to sit in the front!

riding in the nose of the monorail is so much fun!

After the monorail ride, we finished the night off by shopping.  We have to get our souvenirs!

The final thing we did was surprise the boys  with their final Christmas present, Season Passes!!!

Oh yeah, we are season pass holders!
